    Here’s what happens when you take an old Chinese restaurant classic and turn it raw vegan. These are the kind of experiments that seem almost fruitless at first; it just doesn’t seem possible.     Nothing says winter like peppermint, and nothing pairs better with mint than chocolate, so the cool mint oreo cookies were born. Originally I was going to make a raw-vegan minty hot cocoa, but raw and piping hot are kind of an oxymoron.     This is the soup I’ve been wanting to make. Ridiculously quick and easy, this soup will warm you up on a cold day. I made this Thai Coconut Soup in the dehydrator, but as Marie informed me, you can heat it on the stove as long as you check the temperature while heating to keep it raw.     I love teriyaki! So when the craving hit, I opened the fridge and started brainstorming. I had a young coconut, some veggies and rice noodles. My idea hinged on the texture of the coconut meat. It needs to be firm, but still soft, but not too soft (like spoon meat), that you can’t slice it. This coconut was perfect so a recipe was born. I marinated the coconut in a sweet and spicy teriyaki sauce. I could have left it like that, just sitting in the marinade. Hello and Welcome! I’m Marie and I’ve been some version of Raw Vegan for the last 18 years… never mind the fact that I’ve managed to drag my entire family along on this ride with me! Truth be told: they barely even knew they were coming!

You – yes, you – can do this too!  But Let’s Get Practical! For most of us, it’s hard to eat Raw all day, every day. Especially if you live in a less than tropical climate. Or perhaps – like me- you’ve got a significant other… or maybe a tribe of ‘others’, who make 100% raw seem like sci-fi fantasy?

We all know that getting as much whole, living, raw vegan food into ourselves is a recipe for health and vibrancy! So why not make it easy and just eat raw for part of the day? Whether you use this as an avenue into an exclusively vegan diet or would never consider completely saying goodbye to meat, eating Raw till Four will guarantee that you’re ingesting fewer processed foods, less animal products and more of what’s actually good for you and your loved ones!

So come on and Get Raw…Practically.
